2026–27 tax year began

Income tax rates and bands carried over unchanged from 2025–26. The freeze on the Personal Allowance and higher-rate threshold was extended in the 2025 Autumn Budget through April 2031.

Basic dividend rate rose from 8.75% to 10.75%, higher rate from 33.75% to 35.75%. The £500 dividend allowance is unchanged.

The Personal Allowance (£12,570), Basic Rate threshold (£50,270) and Additional Rate threshold (£125,140) remain frozen until April 2031, sustaining fiscal drag.
